• Check out John Moose – a band heavy rooted in the deep forests of Värmland, Sweden. They are releasing their debut album soon and we’re tagging along for the isolated and nature-loving ride.

Flower is a beautiful, sacred song that haunts you long after the stereo is shut down. In the words of the band: ”Flower is a love story between man and nature . It is also a story of man’s search for meaning and what they are willing to give up to continue the hunt.”

• WULF is a brilliant  London three-piece indie rock band will release their debut single ’Fire’ on December 1st through BMG Chrysalis. Enjoy a early listen, right here on Kentuckyseven. It’s a catchy, piano driven gem for sure.

The song is from the band’s debut EP ’Lairs’ (due for release Spring 2015) and we dig references as Black Keys, White Stripes, James Vincent McMorrow, Cold War Kids and Band of Horses. Golden, that is.

• For fans of The Tallest Man On Earth we´ve got the sweet tunes of Fritjof Norrmo from Gothenburg, Sweden coming your way. His debut single Traveler’s Dream is a beautiful backview mirror of a running man – and a perfectly mellow tune for this Monday afternoon.

• Texas guitar man Gary Clark Jr got the balls to release a double disc live album. And let me telleth you; GCJR delivers. Big time.

Thunder coming out thru his fingers, his raw edged electric guitar making me believe in a modern day travelling blues man.

It’s an amazing record, 15 songs long. It’s how Clark Jr should sound like. The man will be ready when his train pulls in.

• Ready for some Canadian Americana thru the sweet junction of E.B. Anderson and the Resolutes? We sure are.

The band is from the fields of Townes Van Zandt and Steve Earle, a twang to remember. Check out Move Your Feet from the album Broken Down Horse.

• Swedish singer/songwriter Nicky wrote his great song Wake Up when he was 15 years old. Four years later it’s his debut single.

It’s a deep throat song, a murder ballad for the wicked, a freight train on our pavement. Nicky got our full attention. In. Deed.

One of my favorite swedish bands of all time Tiger Lou has returned home. A band that spawned from the solo act of Rasmus Kellerman (read WAYLT). Music that actually reshaped my taste in music in a way I didn’t realize until years later.

It has been quiet since 2008  and I nearly lost my faith… But my prayers were heard.

This friday we bring you, from the band that made some of the best albums of the first part of the second millenium (Is My Head Still On 2004, The Loyal 2005 and A Partial Print 2008) the first single from the upcoming album

The album is recorded at Matching Head Studios. Released on Startracks. Producer on the new album is Rolf Klinth, mixed by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Mercury Rev). The sound is more Tiger Lou than you could have asked for. Can’t wait.

It is friday, time to start the weekend. And what better way than with an old friend. The album Come Around Sundown didnt really hit me when I first heard it in 2010… But it has grown on me. Matured if you will.
