Swedish Honeymilk got the sound. You know, the sound. Something you cannot chase down, something you cannot buy. You got it or you don´t.
Just smell the guitar solo 3:10 into the vid down below. You will get the drift. It is a thing of beauty, a walk in the desert, a night of black hole suns.
In April Honeymilk will launch an campaign in the US together with Brooklyn-based Never Better (Of Montreal, Mogwai, Pixies, Band of Horses) and also tour the UK. April 19 they gig Pet Sounds Bar, Stockholm. Check out new single Red Paper Buildings!
This month of March, Merge Records decided tog make a 20th anniversary reissue of Bloomed, the 1994 debut album from Richard Buckner. The album will include 11 bonus tracks of radio sessions and live performances. Golden stuff.
Richard Buckner, described as ”equal parts Bay Area bohemian and dust bowl traditionalist” is an alt-country wanderer with heartache in every tune. In a comment to the re-issue Mr Buckner says: ”Nothing’s changed. I’m still dodging the sky and busking to strangers.”
Whiskey Myers got their brand new album Early Morning Shakes out Feb 4. It´s a southern rock classic.
The album got sweet shades of Led Zeppelin, Blackberry Smoke, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Oak Arkansas, Allman Brothers Band and Black Crowes – and they cover a David Allen Coe-song.
This hard working outlaw-countryband is from Tyler, Texas and it´s their third full-lenght LP. I´m pretty sure the record will take them to the moon and back, it´s pretty amazingly awesome.
From time to time you stumble upon greatness. Like this fella, Zebastian Swartz, a swedish singer-songwriter. He has been blessed with a voice made in heaven.
This video, where he plays his new single was recorded at a subway station in Stockholm. The sound. The ambiance. The voice. Listen and enjoy. Instant love. The single was released yesterday on 100 SONGS, check it out.
You know that things will turn out great when you have THE Ray Lamontagne on one side, and THE Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) on the other, doing things together.
It has been six years since the last solo album (Gossip in The Grain 2008) and four years since the last album with The Pariah Dogs (God Willin & The Creek Don’t Rise 2010).
This time Mr Lamontagne teamed up with legendary Dan Auerbach and the long awaited album will be out may 6 this year. The first single was released today. As alway, pure gold throughout… Listen for yourself.
This Friday of love, passion and devotion we present Robert Stjernberg and his hypnotic new song Valentine. Dark, minimalistic, passive-aggressive. Very likable.
His debut album Tasers & Headshots, recorded in the classic Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg, hit the streets March 12.
How is that for a band name? Kate Tucker and The Sons of Sweden, a quartet hailing out of Nashville, TN. Dreamy Indie Pop that makes you wanna go on a long roadtrip. For us at Kentuckyseven, this was love at first hear. The single ”Blue Hotel” appears on Nashville Indie Spotlight 2014.
The band is releasing their sophomore album this year ”The Shape The Color The Feel”, and judging by the sound and feel of the two songs released so far, this is something to look forward to. Out in stores feb 11.
Just see for yourself:

Baskery is a great killbilly, mud-country, Americanaband from Stockholm, Sweden. The three talented sisters Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson makes us boogie all over the office this morning.
The band just released their third studio-LP Little Wild Life, recorded in an old dance studio in Berlin, Germany. They worked with Long Beach based producer Matt Wignall (Cold War Kids, J.Roddy) to create an album laced in analogue atmosphere, backed up by big room vibes and ruled by the Baskery-groove.
